How To Change Your Username, Alias, or Display Name
To change your username, alias, or display name, follow these steps:
Go to Dashboard → Settings.
Find the Profile section.
Edit the field you want to update and click Save.
There is no cooldown on display name changes. Username changes release your old handle immediately.
Changing your @handle changes your public URL. Anyone with your old link will get a 404 unless you add the old handle as an alias first.
How To Change Your Email Address
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Email & Region.
Enter your new email address in the field provided.
Click Change email. A confirmation link is sent to both your old and new email.
Click the link in your new email inbox to confirm the change.
If you signed up without an email, you can add one at any time. Once confirmed, you can use it to log in from any device.
How To Change Your Password
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Password.
Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters) and confirm it.
Click Change password.
Forgot your password?
Go to the login page and click Forgot password?. Enter your email and we'll send a reset link. The link expires after 1 hour.
How To Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA)
extort.bio supports TOTP-based 2FA via any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.).
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Security.
Click Enable 2FA.
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify & enable 2FA.
Once enabled, you'll need your authenticator code every time you log in.
Recovery Codes
If you lose access to your authenticator app, you can disable 2FA from Settings → Security → Disable 2FA. You'll need to be logged in to do this. If you're locked out, contact support via Discord.
How To Delete Your Account
Account deletion is available from Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone. This action is irreversible — all your data, profile, and uploaded assets will be permanently removed.
Deleting your account releases your @handle immediately. It cannot be recovered.
Discord Connection
You can link your Discord account to enable OAuth login and the live presence pill on your profile.
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Discord.
Click Connect with Discord and authorise the OAuth prompt.
Click Sync from Discord API to pull your username, avatar, and badges.
Enable Show Discord pill on public page and click Save Discord pill.
